0 – Japan and Great Britain are the only teams participating at the 2012 Argentina FIH Champions Trophy still chasing their first Champions Trophy medal.
 
1- On one of six occasions the winners of the last CT tournament before the Olympics went on to become Olympic champions. In 1996, Champions Trophy holders Australia won Olympic gold in Atlanta.
 
2 – Rosario hosts the Champions Trophy for the second time. In 2004 they also hosted the event won by the Netherlands.
 
3 – Three teams have won the Champions Trophy at least once on home turf: Netherlands (1987, 2000 and 2011), Australia (1999 and 2003) and China (2002).

78 – Argentina star Luciana Aymar has played a record 78 Women’s Champions Trophy matches. She will be the first player to reach 80 CT matches.
