> These teams met twice at last year’s Champions Trophy with Korea beating New Zealand 5-3 in Group C only to lose 3-2 in the bronze medal match.
> New Zealand won its first medal at the Champions Trophy in 2011, finishing with the bronze medal after beating Korea 3-2 in the third-place playoff.
> Overall New Zealand have won 3 of 5 Champions Trophy matches against Korea. Their biggest CT victory over Korea came in the 1999 Final 5-6 when they won 3-1.
> Korea’s biggest CT win came against New Zealand when they beat the Black Sticks 8-1 in 1987. This match is still tied for most goals in a CT match, together with AUS-ESP 8-1 in 1993 and NED-GER 8-1 in 2005.  
> Their last meeting came 10 days ago, at the Four Nations Tournament in Cordoba on January 19th, when Korea beat New Zealand 6-4, coming back from 2-0 down. The New Zealand goals were scored by Gemma Flynn, Samantha Charlton, Anita Punt and Charlotte Harrison.

> Anna Lawrence (1999), Katie Glynn and Charlotte Harrison are New Zealand’s top scorers against Korea in CT competition on 2 goals each. Both Glynn and Harrison scored in both CT encounters with Korea in 2011.
> The Black Sticks claimed a third consecutive Oceania Cup title in 2011, securing a berth for the Olympic Games in London later this year.
> New Zealand finished sixth the last time they competed in the Champions Trophy in Argentina, in Rosario in 2004.

> Korea finished fourth at the 2011 Champions Trophy in Amstelveen despite only winning one of its six matches at the tournament. That result was Korea's best finish at the Champions Trophy since Berlin in 1997.
> The last time Korea competed at the Champions Trophy on Argentine soil the team finished second, losing the final on penalty strokes to Australia in Mar del Plata in 1995.
> Korea have lost 6 of their last 7 CT matches against teams from Oceania, their only win being the 5-3 victory over New Zealand in 2011.
> Korea are ranked 8th on the FIH World Ranking.
> Midfielder Kim Da-Rae was selected in the FIH 2011 Women’s All Star team.
> Kim Jong-Eun and Kim Jong-Hee both scored 3 of Korea’s 7 goals against New Zealand at last year’s Champions Trophy. Hong Yoo-Jin was the other Korean goalscorer.
